THE LYRES (Fiction)
Sprung from the hypermasculine 1990s Chicago DIY music scene, haunted chanteuse Quinn Carver makes her own rules in love and music in the chart-topping goth punk band The Lyres. That is, until an obsessive fan group develops a surveillance system to track her, posting her every move from concerts to home and twisting the band’s sense of autonomy and safety to the breaking point. Quinn quits the band and disappears into hiding. But when they find her again, years later, she realizes hiding won’t save her. Instead, she must reclaim her voice to protect her former bandmates, her young daughter, and herself.
